Description
The FG Falcon left the factory with a flat plastic shifter surround, and it is one of the first things you see and touch on every drive. The RB Innovations carbon fibre shifter surround Overlay replaces that plastic look with genuine carbon, right in the centre of the FG and FG-X console where it gets noticed.
Choose from four finishes. Gloss twill is the classic 2x2 weave under a deep gloss clear coat, the pattern most people picture when they think carbon fibre. Matte twill keeps that 2x2 weave under a satin clear coat for a stealthy, OEM-style finish. Gloss forged uses forged carbon fibre with a random, non-repeating grain and the same high-gloss finish for a more modern, aggressive look. Matte forged keeps that forged texture under a satin clear coat for a stealthy, OEM-style finish. Every variant is genuine carbon fibre prepreg with a UV-resistant clear coat rated for daily wear, so it holds its depth without fading or yellowing.
Each surround is 3D scanned and moulded to the exact contour of the factory FG/FG-X trim. It sits flush with no gaps or raised edges, and the factory panel stays in place underneath, completely untouched. OEM+ done properly, a precision overlay over the original with nothing cut and nothing removed.
This surround is designed for automatic FG and FG-X Falcons. Installation is a simple peel and press: clean the surface, line it up, and press firmly onto the automotive-grade double-sided tape. Five to ten minutes and it is done, with no permanent modification to the cabin.
Important fitment note: this overlay does not currently fit manual cars. The added thickness of the carbon surround stops the factory shift boot retainer from clipping back into place. We are actively working on a manual-compatible solution, so manual owners can register interest and we will let you know the moment it is ready.
